Dame Cordelia Smythe is an English adventurer, amateur sleuth and novelist. She is best known for her unique powers of deductive reasoning and frequently referred to as the female Sherlock Holmes. The Cordelia Smythe Murder Mystery Games are summaries of her most interesting cases and allow the players to hone their own methods of deduction.
Smythe is a member of the mystery and crime writers’ organizations; the Detection Club, the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition for her philanthropic works and detective contributions. With the conviction of a previously unknown serial killer (Smythe was the first to recognize the link between several unsolved cases) she was promoted Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DB).
Smythe currently resides in sunny California with her husband, a fellow adventurer and police detective, two French Bulldogs and a tuxedo cat named James Bond.
