A Night at the Library Mystery

November 13, 2016

El Dorado Hills Library, 7455 Silva Valley Parkway, El Dorado Hills CA

Eccentric book collector and millionaire, Howard Bibliophile, has invited the world’s most famous detectives to his country estate for a physically relaxing, but  mentally invigorating weekend.  The consummate host, he has forgotten nothing and is providing all the best culinary and vintner samples available in the county of gold.  He has even collected the printed texts of all the detectives’ most famous cases and exploits.

Sherlock Holmes, Nick and Nora Roberts, Kinsey Millhone, Hercule Poirot and Nancy Drew; dashing, debonair and fearless, all but one – Miss Jane Marple, an elderly spinster lady who lives in the small English village of Saint Mary Meade.  She has acted as an amateur consulting detective in a multitude of mysteries, usually involving the residents of her village, many of her friends and relatives and in every English country house or seaside resort she has ever visited. Wherever Miss Marple goes, trouble will soon follow…

Murder by the Glass

January 30, 2016

Cielo Estate Winery, 3040 Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs CA (530)672-8575

In 1985, pop-band manager turned wine collector, Heddy Rockstocker, made the wine discovery of the century;  a 1787 Chateau Lafite Bordeaux, unearthed in a Paris cellar and supposedly owned by Thomas Jefferson.  Tonight the rare find will be auctioned off by none other than Christie’s of London and is estimated to sell for over $100,000.  Millionaires and celebrities from around the world will be attending this event in hopes that theirs will be the winning bid.  However, Heddy won’t reveal the exact location where the bottle had been found and rumors have began to swirl.  Is it part of a Nazi hoard, a hoax or is she possibly protecting an even darker secret?

Step back into the year 1985, enjoy a five course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Brian Overhauser, exquisite Cielo Estate wines, silent auction for select wines and a little “Murder by the Glass”

January 30, 2016

6:00 PM to 9:00 PM  $85 per person
